About

Waawaate Programs

Waawaate Programs is devoted to facilitating opportunities for restoring relationship with the land as our elders and ancestors held. This includes to love, relate, care, and understand the natural world as it works to provide for us in reciprocal relationship and in the ways our elders have instructed.

Our programs are wholistic, directly serving the Bois Forte Band of Ojibwe reservation and individuals from surrounding communities, including other reservations. These programs are land-based teachings using the Indigenous Learning Model, a researched and historical-based approach to instruction, and serve families, youth, and elders alike. Programs are focused on food sovereignty, traditional seasonal harvests, cultural teachings, traditional music/ dance/art/craft, revitalization of Ojibwemowin and its context, family supports, decolonizing relationship with land, and additional associated programs.

Waawaate Programs is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to our charitable organization please contact Ryan Bajan at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
